Austin's career in show business began when his parents were encouragedto audition their affable toddler for work in television commercials.Within a month Austin had won the role of "Theo" the leukemia-strickenson of "Andy Sipowicz" on ABC's popular, long-running police drama, "NYPDBlue" (1993). The animated three-year-old's bubbly personality soon shonethrough on camera, captivating audiences. Austin's mom, Karrie, feelsthat acting was a natural thing for her young son, who as a baby wouldoften entertain crowds in stores by doing "things like raise his eyebrowsat girls and make them laugh."Austin has gone on to appear as "Watson B. Badger," the lead role inDisney's Inspector Badger and also in The Legend of John Henry (1973) andan episode of "Providence" (1999). He has also starred in well over 30national television commercials and provided voice work for Disney'sfeature Treasure Planet (2002) as "Young Jim Hawkins". In 2002, Austin'swork on "NYPD Blue" (1993) won him the Young Artist Award for BestPerformance in a Drama Series For Actors Under Ten and he was alsoselected as a presenter and a nominee for the Young Artist Awards 2003. Atalented singer and student of ballet and tap dancing, Austin enjoys thesame activities as most boys his age; he loves to camp and ride his bikeand attends Tai Kwando classes.
