Billed professionally as Edward E. Paramore Jr. and E.E. Paramore, this American screenwriter was known as "Ned" to his fellow Manhattan expatriates. Paramore came to Hollywood in 1929 to adapt his stage play Ringside for the screen (the finished product was the RKO talkie Night Parade). After three years as a Paramount staff writer, he freelanced at Columbia (The Bitter Tea of General Yen), Fox (Baby Take a Bow, Chetniks), Republic (Man of Conquest), and other studios until his retirement in 1943. Edward E. Paramore Jr. was one of the founders of the Screen Actors Guild.
