South African native Grethe Fox entered film on the production end by producing and helming an extensive series of music videos and documentaries on a diverse array of subjects. The artist earned her performer's diploma from the University of Cape Town, and studied mime and theater at the Jacques Lecoq School of Mime and Theater in Paris, France, then moved into a succession of projects that included creating a cinematic portrait of Isabel Doll and The Soweto Street Beat Dancers, and a biographical profile of actress Anna-Mart. She served as Elizabeth Hurley's dialogue coach on Darrell James Roodt's 1997 Dangerous Ground and delivered a supporting turn in director Shamim Sarif's lesbian-themed period drama The World Unseen (2007).
