White-haired and already elderly looking by the early 1920s, veteran vaudeville performer Harry O'Connor appeared in one- and two-reel comedies before embarking on a long career playing the heroine's kind, old father in budget Westerns. O'Connor was cast against type only once, as a greedy saloon owner in Tom Tyler's When the Law Rides (1928). The veteran performer became an atmosphere extra after the changeover to sound and died at the ripe old age of 98 at the Motion Picture Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills.
