A director for various Universal companies in the early '20s, Harry Sweet later helmed two-reel Century comedies starring Henry Murdock and Harry Earle and Fox Sunshine Comedies. With RKO at the advent of sound, Sweet added comedy characters to his resumé, appearing in such films as Hit the Deck (1930), True to the Navy (1930), and Carnival Boat (1932). He was killed in a plane crash at California's Big Bear Lake while scouting locations.
