A television interviewer well-reputed for his searing, penetrating interviews with celebrities in high places, Martin Bashir shot to fame as a BBC correspondent in the 1990s and 2000s, largely on the crest of two famous discussions: a candid 1995 talk with Princess Diana of Wales in which Diana discussed the personal complications resulting from Prince Charles' longstanding relationship with Camilla Parker-Bowles and confessed her own extramarital affair with British army officer James Hewitt; and an even more revealing 2003 interview with Michael Jackson that prompted a jury trial with allegations of child abuse against the singer. In subsequent years, Bashir relocated to America and took a post with ABC News, where he culled fame as a correspondent on Nightline. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
