Mary Doyle is best remembered as a stage actress and a drama coach, but she has also occasionally appeared in feature films and television shows. A former student of New York's Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater, there she studied the Stanislavsky Method under Sanford Meisner and Martha Graham. Much later, Doyle herself would become a teacher of the Method. As an actress, she appeared in plays on Broadway, off-Broadway, and in regional productions. Her television guest-star appearances include such shows as Breslin's Neighborhood, the television movie Hardhat and Legs and the series Law & Order. Doyle has only appeared in a few films such as Pigeons and The Young Nurses. She became a teacher in 1970. Doyle eventually founded her own actors' studio at the A.I.A. School in Manhattan.
