Brunette starlet Patricia Farr worked as an usherette at a Los Angeles movie theater when she signed with Paramount. After numerous bit parts, she was awarded the female lead in Universal's 12-chapter action serial Tailspin Tommy, about gangsters attempting to gain control of Three Point Airlines. Although pretty and vivacious, the studio nevertheless replaced her with blonde Jean Rogers in the 1935 sequel Tailspin Tommy in the Great Air Mystery. Rogers went on to immortality as Dale Arden in the Flash Gordon serials. Farr starred or co-starred in such forgotten fare as Speed to Spare (1937) and All-American Sweetheart (1938).
