Worked as a Radio DJ for a selection of stations before joining the Top Gear in 2002. Is fanatical about cars most especially Land Rovers, but has a collection of other sports cars as well. Was given the nickname of ‘Hamster’ due to his height (5’7’’ or 1.70m). Survived a horrific car crash while trying to break the British land speed record on 20th September 2006, in a Vampire Speedster. He was travelling at 288 mph (463 km/h) when the right front tyre failed. Is most famous for presenting Top Gear, but has a large number of other documentary and factual programs in his resume.
