Played strictly for laughs, belly type, it's an audience winner from way back in the balcony. What can you lose?

Thoroughly moth-eaten.

Peter Godfrey, the director, has a good deal to learn about the art of telling a boudoir joke in the parlor and getting away with it.

Frolicsome in an artificially hearty sort of way.

It's nothing that's going to change your life or anything but if you want a pleasant and romantic comedy that has some good laughs and some good chemistry it's a... really entertaining little Christmas movie.
Barbara Stanwyck uses every acting muscle in her body to redeem this silly holiday romance.
Audience Reviews for Christmas in Connecticut
"Christmas in Connecticut" is cute and diverting, with a good performance by Stanwyck. Essentially, it's "I Love Lucy" when they moved to Connecticut -- but it's Christmas -- and even more sexist. Completely predictable, but still enjoyable even though you know exactly where the Christmas sleigh is headed.

Star power sells this bit of holiday confectionery, with the benefits of studio system style production evident throughout. You'll want to move in by the end of it.

This romantic comedy is very funny and very sweet, I enjoyed it, and I think you will too. It has an interesting story of lies and getting out of lies and finding love. The actors are great, I loved Stanwyck in this one. This is a fun movie, I recommend it.
