Islands in the Stream is a big, strong, old-fashioned movie about that threatened species, the Hemingway Hero.

Islands in the Stream is best when it centers on people instead of plot. The film is blessed with a marvelously literate script (by Denne Bart Petitclerc), and fine actors who bring that script to life.
