Movie Info

A fine cast can do little to breathe life into this classic story from Damon Runyon. Sorrowful Jones (Walter Matthau) takes a nine-year-old girl (Sara Stimson) as a marker from a gambler who owes him a ten-dollar bet. Blackie (Tony Curtis) is a gambler who hopes to open a casino at the home of attractive widow Amanda (Julie Andrews). Stimson is delightful, but even she can't save this tepid remake from ending up in the forgettable file.

The problem is that this Little Miss Marker obtusely ignores or obscures the elements that might justify it.

The best aspect of the movie is the first part, where the good humor shines like Mancini's music. [Full Review in Spanish]
