Critic Reviews for The Point
Through The Point!, [Harry] Nilsson, the boy who grew up without a father, got to live out his fantasy of having one who was there for him.
There may be better family films, but few that are more personal and less condescending to young people.
The Point is exceptional enough in its charm, its whimsy, its animated style, and its musical lyricism to draw favorable comparisons to The Beatles' classic Yellow Submarine as well as the earliest of the beloved Peanuts TV specials.
Audience Reviews for The Point
Good songs ("Me and My Arrow" repeats in my brain), sketchy stylized animation, and lots of characters without a point. A nice movie for children-of-hippies to sit down and enjoy.
Definitely shows it age, but if you get caught up in this then you're missing "the point". I wouldn't say this is necessarily on the same level as Pixar for family movies, but my daughter certainly enjoyed it for its entertainment value, while I appreciated the soundtrack and theme.
