The Homeric yarn has been well edited and shortened for movie consumption, and the result is a fascinating trip into the age of enchantresses, gods and goddesses and witchcraft.
The Odyssey, by Homer, is a lot more interesting than this Italian-made screen version of it...
A cheesy, but entertaining excursion into mythology, Douglas a bit hammy and Anthony Quinn chews on some fat as well. A guilty pleasure.

Kirk's in great shape but that is all that can be said for this woebegone affair.

Read the book. Douglas is very good, as is the rest of the cast, but this tale has too much to say to be confined in one film. A series of TV movies might work with the right script writer.
