Perhaps the finest of all Jack London adaptations, with Edward G. Robinson delivering a dynamic performance as Wolf Larsen.
It's tight, terse and terrific.
The movie is very good from all points of view. [Full review in Spanish]
Exciting sea yarn.
Fine Warners/E.G. Robinson sea faring action tale.
Audience Reviews for The Sea Wolf
A superb cast elevates this moody and atmospheric Michael curtiz offering about a ruthless sea captain out on the sea. he's after ... well, the story never actually clarifies what it is that he's after. nor does it pursue explanation too deeply of any real world, world building set-ups. Perhaps they are only a minor plot points, after all. what's important to this story is simply that he's one ruthless, mean son-of-a-you know what I mean, and there the movie digs in its heels. The other half of the story is how does everyone else deal with it. it's great entertainment.
