Delightful.
Deliciously dry and droll, subtly slapshticky and timelessly topical in all those male gender expectations way.
It is, to be blunt, a ridiculous premise executed with delightful precision by Hamer and his cast.
Despite a weak finish, this is an enjoyable British comedy starring the incomparable Alastair Sim.
Robert Hamer has directed with intelligent restraint. If the comedy lacks sharpness, he has not allowed it to become further blunted by bogus joviality.
A pleasant "back to school" gift for all you college bound Heder fans.
Audience Reviews for School for Scoundrels
This fabulous film is available on DVD at last, twinned with another Alaister Sim classic, THE GREEN MAN. But, the star of this film is the dapper TERRY-THOMAS. Every scene he is in is superb. From the suave cad in the first half of the film to the flustered toff in the second, this is one of his finest performances and stands up to repeat viewings due to his expressive faces and masterful comic timing. I hear there is going to be a Hollywood remake of this film, which will be a huge mistake as there has been no one like T-T since. I recommend anyone who is a fan of British comedy to see this classic or you will forever be crying 'hard cheese'!

This is the original school for scoundrels movie not to get confused with the remake. This movie stars some well known actors, but for some reason I just couldn't get into this movie, and got bored with it. Maybe I'll give it another chance one day.
