Based on a novel by Mary Higgins Clark, the film explores the life of an art-gallery manager (Carol Higgins Clark) who marries a famous Canadian painter (Perry King). After moving her two young daughters to his mansion, she soon comes to the frightening realization that he is much more than the garden-variety tortured artist.
