Some films are great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them; A Deadly Legend is definitely the latter, and that greatness explicitly comes in the shape of Lori Petty's brief but divine cameo.
A Deadly Legend commits the worst sin of all for a horror movie: There is absolutely nothing scary about this terrible film.
Unfortunately, the narrative ambitions exceed the grasp of director Pamela Moriarty and writer Eric Wolf, but their efforts to do something new are admirable.
Simply trying to synopsize this "everything but the kitchen sink" low-budget horror movie is enough of an indication as to just how nonsensical it really is. But it's also poorly written nonsense.
A laugh-out-loud Z-movie about haunted land being profaned by developers somewhere in the Northeast, and not in Florida, where such cursed happenings are common.
A Deadly Legend is a hodge-podge of horror elements that never add up to anything of substance and undercut by a budget that is well under its aspirations.
