Movie Info
Anatol (Wallace Reid) deceives his wife Vivian (Gloria Swanson) with a series of amoral affairs. One is with Satan Synne (Bebe Daniels), supposedly the world's most notorious woman. Anatol hypocritically recoils from her when he discovers she is married to a disabled World War I veteran. Agnes Ayers Monte Blue, Elliot Dexter, Wanda Hawley and Theodore Roberts also appear in this drama in which director Cecil B. De Mille combines glamour, sex, and the thrill of forbidden lust.

Your enjoyment of this will obviously depend on whether you like silents or not. As a look way back to the beginnings of narrative film making and a fashion show of what woman wore then this has some interest. It's also a rare chance to see the doomed Wallace Reid in one of his few existing films, he was deep in the thoes of morphine addiction when this was made and looks shockingly old when you realize he was only 29 when this was made he appears 50 minimum.
