Alias---The Bad Man (1931)

Movie Info
While not the best of Ken Maynard's westerns for Tiffany Pictures, Alias -- The Bad Man is not too far from it. The villains are a group of cattle rustlers who employ gangster-style methods to pull off their heists. Hero Maynard goes undercover and joins the gang, hoping thereby to beard the baddies in their own den. The plot thickens when the father of heroine Virginia Brown Faire is found murdered, and Maynard is held responsible. Critics were impressed by Faire's performance in Alias -- The Bad Man but treated Ken Maynard with their usual condescension -- something he truly didn't deserve this time out.
