Coming of age flick never grows up
Taken individually, each scene has interesting qualities. However, as a whole, director Jeffrey Porter fails to bring it all together.
Yet another tiresome coming-of-age movie.
Not to be bothered with.
[P]allid teen comedy [that] tries... hard to be cutesy and precious and adorably wacky...
The story is ultimately stillborn, failing to generate much sympathy as a coming-of-age tale
Audience Reviews for All I Want (Try Seventeen)
Elijah Wood, Franka Potente, Mandy Moore, Elizabeth Perkins, Deborah Harry, Aaron Pearl, Chris William Martin DIRECTED BY: Jeffrey Porter A 17-year-old college dropout who moves into a funky old apartment building and becomes intrigued by his wacky neighbors. A self-absorbed actress and a cranky photographer who live just across the hall, and downstairs a very butch gay man. It is just one of those films you want to shut off cause it's so ridiculous but yet you for some reason want to finish it. Probably one of the silliest films I have seen in a while. Had a couple laughable moments, but in all just a film that will have you wondering "why did I rent this". Just a silly movie that some might like.
