Along Came Jones includes enough of the uproar that Hollywood has always associated with sleepy Western towns to keep the customers reasonably diverted.

Audience Reviews for Along Came Jones

Filmed nearly entirely on a soundstage (what in the name of heaven were they thinking, an indoor Western?!?), produced by Coop himself, written by Nunnally Johnson, and meant as a kitschy send-up of the usual stonyfaced Westerns, this effort tries way too hard to be funny and therefore only manages to feel way too contrived. An "A" for effort goes to William Demerest, Dan Duryea, the sidekick and the villain respectively, and to the set design department for giving the thing that ol' college try though.

Along came a stupid western, is more like it. Good actors, bad plot.
