Nyland delivers an excellent performance, one that is forced to transform into something questioningly introspective as events progress.
A spare, dread-filled mood piece whose just-so dialogue, too-tight close-ups, and deceptively subdued pacing all tease out small, but essential details from both of these elusive central characters.
A tragic and sometimes ghoulish tale of necromantic romance, An Unquiet Grace is a very different take on piercing the dark veil than star and writer Nyland's last collaboration with writer/director Terence Krey.
This may come as a pleasant surprise.
What sets An Unquiet Grave apart is its simplicity, though this doesn't minimise the characters' journeys or dismiss any of the genre's heritage.
The editing especially is problematic and creates confusion as to what is happening and when.
