Perhaps if Coixet (Elegy) had approached Another Me as a family drama instead of a genre exercise, she might have captured its real horrors.
Another Me is a fairly good movie, but a slow burn of a story, the acting saves it from being boring.
plays out all the expected tropes of a doppelgänger film in a dreamy haze, while leaving it for the viewer to decide whether this divided self is a real spectre dogging Fay, or a mere metaphor for her anxieties about coming of age.
Turner is solid, if perhaps miscast, with beguiling screen presence and the strength to (mostly) avoid succumbing to the teeth-gnashing melodrama of her character's situation.

An abysmal exercise of genre, awfully written and laughably silly when you think about its inane plot and what it wants to say (whatever that is), while made nearly insufferable to watch by an also clichéd direction that fails to create any suspense at all.
