In this dramatic adventure, the flirtatious Cherry O'Day is the daughter of the Shanghai saloon keeper Terrence. When her father dies, Cherry marries banker William Blaine. MacGregor is the unrefined sailor who vows to return from a year at sea to marry the disinterested Cherry.
