The two lead actresses both give appealing and believable performances. Had the characters, especially Dana, been a bit more developed, the movie would be far more vivid and distinctive.

Blush gives us a compelling glimpse of what being a LGBT teen is like in Israel, which is enough to make this an interesting hour and a half.

The visual textures are adroitly familiar, but the director never loses track of his two leads: the sex scene between the two young women tumbles through often contradictory moods and their distinct uncertainty before capturing their pleasure together.

There's still a freshness of observation and a sparky sense of wonder about its protagonists which means that Michal Vinik's debut feature retains the keen edge of authentic experience.
