In this film, aspiring actress Kim Walker is determined to become the protegee of famed Broadway actor/producer Sheridan. The only person not charmed by Kim's herculean efforts to achieve stardom is playwright Paul Taylor, who balks when ordered to write a play for her.

Daffy comedy is helped immeasurably by the chemistry between Deanna Durbin and Charles Laughton. Not as good as their first teaming "It Started with Eve" but they make this far better than it should be.
