A beautiful and original idea has been locked in the limits of a poor story. [Full review in Spanish]
Pictorially, Beyond Tomorrow is a fine piece of work but as entertainment It's too slow-paced and at times dreary.
A genial, whimsical, fantasy film about the true meaning of Christmas.
Audience Reviews for Beyond Tomorrow
It sometimes happens in film that how the thing gets done and comes together is better than the planned intent. Herein is a case for the opposite. It goes all over the map thematically when it intends to be the sort of pre-WW11 Christmas tale Hollywood churned out quite regularly, losing focus, and your interest, when holding it was the aim. Fortunately it is staffed by a cadre of seasoned professional character actors who share the lead (and the rationale to see this) who do not lose focus and carry the piece home. Chief amongst them: the ever radiant Maria Oupenskaya as the female glue in a household of grumpy, dissenting old men. Yes, you'll groan at some of the obvious manipulations thrown at you, but the craft of these vets maintaining a lesser product is still worthwhile.

For a film about pureness of heart the film has a lot of dark edges. Enjoyable performances from three very good character actors, Harry Carey, C. Aubrey Smith and Charles Winninger.

I thought this was a really good movie. It's sweet and shows how you can come back after losing your way.
