Birds of Paradise is a fine little lesbian diversion for a moody day. Worst case, you'll remember how good Diana Silvers is in Booksmart and watch that again.
The dancers are very good, and Jacqueline Bisset playing that devil -- she was absolutely outstanding.
High class trash... It is a film that you don't necessarily feel proud of yourself for enjoying as much as you do.
Beautiful yet hollow, intriguing yet distanced, skillfully performed without much of a beating heart.

Sarah Adina Smith has a gift for striking images and creating intriguingly spooky moods, bordering on gothic, but the plot is so overstuffed we hardly have time to even notice Jacqueline Bisset as the demanding director of the ballet group.
Birds of Paradise gets lost in its own muddied aesthetic pretensions.
