Relatively painless.

There's nothing redeeming about this badly written, badly directed and (in the case of Jessica Simpson), badly acted low-brow comedy.

I have never not laughed so much.

It's easy to hog pile on Jessica Simpson, and certainly "Blonde Ambition" makes a great case to grab a flaming torch and run her out of the acting world for the rest of time. Perhaps if Simpson acted like an adult for once it would be a different story.

Jessica just narrowly misses slipping into the idiotic dumb blonde routine. Though her character could have done well with some serious toning down of the clownish clothes and lightening up of the far too lavishly applied lipstick.

...despite the presence of Jessica Simpson, Blonde Ambition remains an amiable, almost entertaining piece of work that generally holds the viewer's interest throughout...

Audience Reviews for Blonde Ambition

The film wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. The film did need a rewrite. It is trying to be like Legally Blonde, but it's not. The ending reminded me of the ending of Working Girl. The film did have some good funny moments in it. I thought Scott Marshall did an ok job directing. He did a much better job on the comedy Keeping Up with the Steins. Acting wise, Jessica Simpson was better here than in Private Valentine. Her best performance in a film so far, has been Employee of the Month. Hopefully she will get a good film role that fits her. Luke Wilson was ok, but reminded me of his Legally Blonde character. Penelope Ann Miller, Andy Dick, and Larry Miller do a good job in their supporting roles. It was great seeing Penny Marshall make an appearance in the film.
