Boy Meets Girl certainly isn't perfect, but it would do the film a tremendous disservice to focus on the missteps when there are so many things to love about this movie.

The profoundly sensitive, often wryly funny look at friendship, romance, sexual attraction and gender identity carries themes and dynamics that feel as timeless as they do up-to-the-minute.

Audience Reviews for Boy Meets Girl

Great movie, really liked it. The girl is so pretty as well, would really not pick her as transgendered aside from her voice. Really a sweet story about how you can fall in love with a person and not a gender and to follow your dreams.

A superb look at the treatment of transgenders in modern day society. A superb coming of age drama also that empowers you to live without fears despite what those around you think or feel. Heartwarming and heartbreaking.

"Boy Meets Girl" starts with Ricky(Michelle Hendley) and Robby(Michael Welch) debating their respective lack of luck with the opposite sex at her place of work. Enter Francesca(Alexandra Turshen) who is saving herself for marriage with her fiancé David(Michael Galante). She is also much more interested in Ricky than in Robby. That does not change at the local watering hole when Ricky texts her that she is in fact transgendered which Francesca does not seem to mind in the least. While maybe a little too PSA-y for its own good(although considering the amount of ignorance in this country...), "Boy Meets Girl" is still a sexy, funny and sweet romantic comedy about finding yourself in a small town.(Luckily, for Ricky, she figured who she was at a very young age.) And as uneven and rough as the movie can be in spots, it also has some great scenes like perhaps the best flashing scene ever and when Robby tries to explain the female facts of life to Ricky.
