Mr. Abeles did many funny things, and his performances were the only ones that elicited any chuckle. Between his humorous oases there were arid spots of desert dullness.

Plenty of vim and vigor to this feature picture. It pulsates with a palpitating motion after the first two reels of planting the foundation are finished.

With an amusing plot, plenty of adventure, admirable characterization so far as the central figures are concerned, and charm of treatment, Brewster's Millions seems to be a successful contribution to Lasky quality of production.
Not often has so gifted, so eloquent a comedian, in the highest sense of that word, appeared on the screen. The artistry of Abeles' pantomimic performance as Monty Brewster will be remembered when the best of slapstick comedians has been forgotten.
In it Edward Abeles who created the role of Monty Brewster in the stage version of the story, duplicates his success and there is every reason why the film should score a hit equal to that of the play and of the book itself.
Edward Abeles, who played the part or Monty Brewster some 1,900 times on the speaking stage, has surprised his most extravagant well wishers and admirers by his almost uncanny knowledge of "screen technique."
