One of John Wayne's last movies is also one of his worst, a desperate effort to grab the youth market

A minor John Wayne film that becomes a bore due to its preachy message.

Audience Reviews for Cahill U.S. Marshal

As slow as watching hardening arteries, this is a kids movie made by yer great grandparents. Although there's talent here, and there is and plenty of it, it all seems past it. The most interesting part that remains then are the parts wherein the Duke tries to whitewash some of his own history: he tells a black man that he's no bigot. He tells his great grandson to treat a squaw with respect. It's as if the old guy is aware that time has marched on ... as soon he had to as well.

Absolutely of the Duke's western so John Wayne and George Kennedy (as the chief baddie) made wonderful performances.

Is it just me or are all 70's movies simplistic? John Wayne ignores his kids who get in trouble who get rescued by John Wayne who promises to pay more attention to his kids.
