Movie Info

Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr plays a prehistoric, social outcast who, along with other misfits, forms his own tribe and finds various comic adventures. This spoof is mostly without dialogue besides the expected neanthropic grunt.

It has a basic problem, which is that there is no popular original material for it to satirize.

All of this is handled ingeniously enough to let the movie feel colorful and whole, though it could so easily have been nothing but farfetched.

...one of the most free-wheeling comedies you've probably never seen, check out Caveman or remain in the stone age forever....

Ringo Starr is perfectly cast as a hapless cave-dweller in an endearingly stupid prehistoric romp that introduced a couple of future stars to the world.

The scriptwriter doesn't show much imagination when it comes to inventing plot scenarios. Not even the inclusion of well-known music saves the movie from its monotony. [Full Review in Spanish]

Caveman will not be for all tastes, and even with the cleverness to be found herein, this isn't exactly what one could call a thinking person's farce.

Caveman, looks silly and sometimes presents a poor script. But this Carl Gottlieb's comedy is really funny together with his special effects and unforgettable scenes.

This spoof of One Million Years B.C. with ex-Beatle Ringo Starr as the prehistoric hero is ridiculous and quite brainless fun because of the amount of sexual innuendo, it is definitely not recommended for kids. The delightfully ridiculous stop-motion animation dinosaurs led by David Allen are hilarious!
