Critic Reviews for C'est la vie (Le sens de la fête)

All Critics (36) | Top Critics (10)

Despite a fine, fun, multicultural ensemble cast, not every character and subplot here is gold, but the film breezes along so amiably that its weaker moments never grate. It's a shame that such an obvious crowd-pleaser is getting such a limited release.

It's a mad farce - but the fun, chuckle-worthy kind.

The film doesn't quite work. It has some choice moments, enough to carry us through, but it's difficult to build mood and tension with this kind of sprawling story and a large cast.

A beautifully cast ensemble that provides plenty of needle-sharp comic characterisations.

Manic and earnest, the meticulously constructed plot whips by at a breakneck pace.
