Movie Info

The Oklahoma Land Rush of the late 19th century provides the backdrop for this Dick Foran musical western. The star plays Eastern lawyer Dick Hudson, who heads Westward to stem the activities of land swindler Link Carter (Edmund Cobb). In addition to his other crimes, Carter is a cattle rustler, making it all the more urgent that Hudson drop his legal books and strap on his shootin' irons. Cherokee Strip boasts a much more appealing ingenue than usual in the form of Jane Bryan, a young Warner Bros. contractee on the verge of bigger things. This is also the film which introduced the hit song "My Little Buckaroo," later relentlessly plugged on radio and in Warners' animated "Looney Tunes."
