(2008) Confessions Of A Go-Go Dancer

Made-for-TV but is now available for rental which the idea is strictly routine. And anybody expecting any nudity will be very disappointed, because what viewers is getting is the life of a 'go-go girl' who don't work in the same manner as strippers since they only strip to their underwear. Jane McCoy(Chelsea Hobbs) want to become a professional actress instead of becoming what her parents want her to be, which is a lawyer. As a result, it created a rift between her and her parents, motivating her to move out and live with her Go-go dancer girlfriend. While working as a small time worker at a shopping mall, her parents then requested her to pay back the tuition that was put into her lawyer courses. And because her go-go girlfriend is making more than she is as a cashier at a shopping mall selling beauty products, she decides to try it, since her acting teacher instructed her to try things one isn't expected to do. More revelations are expected as some fences are mended. All I can say is that the acting is woodened, particularly Jane's parents, and it may be because the simple-minded dialogue had the same makings for a made-for-TV movie. As a matter of fact, all of the situations are almost unconvincing. The documentaries shown on HBO about all this dancing stuff is more entertaining.

The lead actress was very good but most of the other actors were horrible and wooden except for maybe Corbin Bernsen. The story is boring, predictable and seems to be a warning about losing your morals. It would be a perfect movie if the audience were high school girls in a catholic school and the teachers were trying to scare them into never "straying from the path of God" but for the rest of the world it comes off as preachy and condesending. Become a go-go dancer or any dancer that dances just for men and you will automatically become a drug addict, lose any hopes and dreams you have, lose your family, lose your perfect boyfriend and if you stay in too long you die. I wouldn't be surprised if a nun wrote the script and the church funded it.

Horrible movie.

Surprisingly a pretty decent movie

This wasn't too bad for a smaller project. The acting was fairly decent, but I couldn't really feel anything for the characters. They seemed to lack emotion where they should of had it and didn't really seem to learn much from their experiences.

This is an impressively captivating movie with a great cast. The main characters are realistically aggravating as they are all grey; neither absolutely bad nor absolutely good. I like how Jane has a MEC backpack.

Great movie. Lifetime movies are always fun to watch. Even though the stories sound a bit wack, there actually pretty good and interesting. Great movie, this chick in this movie went through a bunch of changes.
