(1989) Curfew
SUSPENSE HORROR

Straight to rental low budget flick starring Kyle Richards, the sister of Kim Richards who scored big on those "Witch Mountain" movies and sometimes appear in a reality show together called "the Real Housewives of ...". A rather young teenage Kyle stars in one of many screened appearances, this time she gets first billing as Stephanie Davenport with some strict parents since they have some high authority involving the justice system. Before Stephanie is allowed to go out with football player, she has a curfew to be back at 10 PM. Meanwhile, two psychopaths are going on a killing spree going after all the officials who put them in jail in the first place which includes the judge, prosecutor, lawyer etc...

Because it has to be stretched into a two hour movie- 82 minutes to be exact, the makers had to find ways to stall it's viewers by making the characters idiotic and unrealistic. I mean, the two convicts can find out all the people they have on their hit list where they live in a spawn of less than two days defies logic in terms of time, and the reason that is because the makers wanted all this chaos to happen before the star makes it to her 10 O'clock curfew.

CURFEW (2012)

Este fue el ganador del Oscar como mejor corto del 2012. A pesar de ser un tema tan intenso, lograron condensar la historia exitosamente en tan poco tiempo.

Sits proudly alongside the likes of Jingle all The Way, RoboCop 3, The Lawnmower Man and anything featuring a Nic Cage hair piece in the catagory of 'Biggest Pile of Cowpat Ever Made'. Truly awful.

Two brothers escape Death Row and terrorize a DA and his family in their home. Subpar although I liked how the judge questioned the DA's daughter about the appropriateness of her knee-length skirt. A nice takeaway for teen girls.

Its hard to believe, looking back today, that in 1988 the BBFC band this film. There are next to no redeeming features to this film, its badly scripted, poorly shot and woefully acted. No doubt many people have checked out this film purely on the grounds that it was at one time band to those of you who haven't, don't waste your time. Its also really odd to think that director Winick would go on to direct such chick flicks as Bride Wars and Letters To Juliet.

Escaped Death Row brothers terrorize the family of the D.A. that put them away years before. Focuses more on torture than any storyline. At some point I would expect some kind of longer term plan to be formulated.

Two talkative psychopaths escape to exact revenge on the judge & D.A. who put them away. Typical torture scenes on family & friends by the poorly acted convicts are far from shocking. Bad soundtrack & out of place humor clinch a forgettable film.

Cult-ish, previously banned years ago B-movie horror. When two murdering bastards escape from prison they go find the people responsible and act shocking and gory revenge. Despite its b-movie status, this is quite well acted with some good gory moments and murder scenes and the mentalists do a pretty good job of being mental. Not brilliant by any means but not bad for what it is.
