A shallow and insipid erotic horror film, Embrace of the Vampire relies mainly on its surreal visual style. Alyssa Milano leads the cast and uses the film as a vehicle to change her Hollywood image...and that she does. Given what she has to work with, Milano handles the material fairly well; but the rest of cast is dreadful (particularly Martin Kemp). And the script is incredibly weak and underdeveloped, to the point that the vampire isn't even given a name. Poorly made and incompetently executed, Embrace of the Vampire is trashy and tasteless.
