This is an easy-going sitcom universe that sooths more than it challenges.
If you can sit through to the end (a huge if), you'll be pleased that you did.
A return to form for indie darling Drake Doremus, who brings his nuance, sensitivities and homespun feel to a formulaic love-triangle set-up.
Well, it's a good performance from Woodley.
Endings/Beginnings swerves toward an uplifting and positive conclusion doesn't feel natural or earned. By then, one can only hope those familiar, poorly lit faces made the viewing worthwhile.
Woodley makes Daphne both exasperating and beguiling, and Doremus uses the rhythms of her life - tentative, uncertain, haunted by events that are gradually revealed - to inform the pace of the movie.
