After serving their time, three convicts are released from prison. One of them has a check for $25,000. The ex-cons plan to use it to open a store. Unfortunately, it can only be cashed in Glory, a small town. An avaricious bank president tries to convince another to kill the ex-con with the check so that he can have the money. The three cons end up hiding in a bordello. They eventually get the money and the wicked banker finally gets his just desserts.

Critic Reviews for Fools' Parade

All Critics (2)

It is the best film Andrew V. McLaglen has directed and a reassuring reminder that the narrative film need not be dead so long as it can be done well, invested with color and conviction.

It is the kind of picture that leans heavily on Stewart's skill, personality and built-in folksiness. Time and again he gives you the impression of an interesting character that really isn't there in the role.
