There's nothing particularly deep or compelling about these characterizations, and since the film doesn't create its own canted universe a pungent odor of phoniness envelopes an already flimsy conceit.

Instead of fully exploring the vulnerability and fragility of the characters, Forev offers too many ridiculous, unfunny scenarios on the way to a somewhat honest and effective ending.
