Movie Info

In this film, based on the stage play by John Herbert's, unfortunate naif Smitty is sent to prison on a drug charge and becomes a brutal prison leader. Basically, this is an earnest prison drama with some small amusement provided by its treatment of prison homosexuality.

It is both exploitative and melodramatic and by the time it has made its hysterical way to its conclusion it is just unbelievable.
