In this western, Gene Autry plays a US marshal who must defend a natural cement mine from being stolen from its owners who have a counteract with the construction company selected to build a large dam. The film's title comes from the Bob Livingston-penned song that was a big hit for Frankie Laine. Mule Train was chosen by the New York Museum of Modern Art to represent the career of Gene Autry.
