In this family drama, Eric (Torquil Campbell), a young boy living on the Aleutian Islands, discovers a rare golden seal that has long been the desired prey of the local hunters, Eric's father (Steve Railsback) included. When Eric befriends the seal and her pups, he must fight to protect her from the greedy hunters seeking the price the seal's pelt would bring.

Seals are cute. But they are not charismatic animals. They rank well below horses, chipmunks and lions, down around wild boars and sloths.
