Movie Info

In this black comedy, the prophet Elijah rises from the waters of Lake Michigan. Dressed as a tramp, the seer roams the streets of Chicago encountering assorted characters including a woman about to abort a child, a homeless violinist, and a starving artist. Much of the story parallels the Biblical account of the prophet's life. At the film's end, the prophet sinks back beneath the blue waters of the great lake.

This is the rare experimental film that's visually alive, spiritually welcoming, and funny even when it's brooding.

Audience Reviews for Goldstein

Jean Renoir & Truffaut loved this, but for me it was like 3 art movies clashing, & it was boring the first viewing
