Audience Reviews for Grantham & Rose

I also saw this at the Cleveland International Film Festival 2014. Like Copenhagen, it shares themes of a romantic relationship between a twenty-something and an under-aged teen as well as a youth who doesn't want to repeat the mistakes of an absent parent. Grantham (Austin), Rose (Gibbs), and Wallis (Thompson) are the three main travelers in the story. Everything, including the character names and motivations, has that quirky, indie, student-film feel. It doesn't quite seem polished. I think the biggest fault with the movie is the script: the dialogue, the character development, the inclusion of certain scenes. The writer, Ryan Spahn, acts in the film as well. What is the purpose of this film? Are the characters supposed to be real or is it intended to be more tongue-in-cheek? The poster is misleading since it was shown in black-and-white. Black-and-white film stock or a black-and-white digital effect doesn't make sense for the story. It left me unimpressed.
