For once, though, a teen movie where obnoxious nerds and general dimwittedness usually reign supreme, displays refreshing wit and recognizable emotions. That is no small feat.

Why is it that good movie ideas are always being interrupted by goons with guns, and obligatory chase and fight scenes, just when we would actually be interested in how the characters were really feeling?

this movie is fun to watch, but mostly as a way to remember the fashions and styles of 1980s high school

A fun, fast comic-thriller that serves the talents of Cryer magnificently

March 11, 2006 | Rating: 3/5

Hiding Out never once approaches funny. Were it not for the parade of cliches and stereotypes stolen from various high-school comedies, I'd have assumed that this movie was a straight drama.

An enjoyable and highly amusing teen flick

Man, I LOVED Jon Cryer in this movie... perhaps even moreso than in "Pretty in Pink." Sick? Maybe.

Great disguise, Cryer -- EXACTLY the sort of look you want when you don't want to call attention to yourself.
