After a gripping and suspenseful opening, I was pulled into the story and pleasantly surprised at how much I cared about the main protagonists' plight. Linda Haynes gives us a believable and sympathetic performance. There's actually very little reason why this film needed to be banned. Granted, the majority of the film takes place in a prison, so there is some nudity and a few gruesome bits but nothing too extreme. (Although, the insects crawling all over Linda is quite horrific, particularly the giant spiders and scorpions.) By the third act the film turns into a TV version of A Clockwork Orange. Not too shabby.
