In the Doghouse (1961)
Movie Info
This comedy parallels the disparate careers of two British veterinarians. One of them, who took twelve years to get his license, truly loves animals and opens up his clinic in a poor neighborhood. His rival cheated on his exams and is only in it for the money. He set his clinic up in the richest part of town. One the caring vet must chase a trained chimpanzee through a ladies Turkish bath. He and the chimp's owner, a comely performer, fall in love. Meanwhile he inadvertently gets entangled in the greedy vet's scheme to export horses to France to be butchered. When he finds out what he has gotten himself into, the good vet exposes the dealings of the greedy one to an inspector for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
